the UEFA Euro starts today – so before you can only think about who is going to become the new European Champion – I would like to shift your mind to the sparkling world of advertising.
No surprise that currently football is the dominating topic, unfortunately very often not really distinctive and playing with the very obvious.
But there are some exceptions and a nice example is the one from Heineken for the Champions League Final. Heineken is continuing their activities here from the last years, always around how guys can watch the CL final without risking a fight with their girlfriends.
Very entertaining – and although obvious as beer and football is a perfect match – the resolution for sure is surprising. Fun insight – and most likely appealing to both sexes.
There is nothing to be pointed out in the next example but how charming the idea in itself is (although not distinctive but still fun!), how nicely it is produced and although long, how very entertaining it is.
A classic from Nike for the UEFA Euro and hey, Ronaldo proves some actor skills – who would have thought?
After Augmented Reality, 360° photos or videos are now the “new” hot topic in the scene. Even Facebook just announced yesterday that you are now able to post 360° photos, too. You simple need to shoot a panoramic video or use a 360° camera app – and then just post it – Facebook is automatically taking care of the techniques to have it working in 360°. How nice! Wonderful possibilities for advertising, too. I bet we are going to see more of that.
The recent example of Beck’s beer shows they are going with the time and are fully up to speed of what might move their consumers. Small idea, probably not moving the needle – but hey, for sure innovative and worth a try!
What I really like about Samsung is that they prove with many many inventions that they have the well-being of their customers in mind. Samsung is a constant deliverer of content which is not at all trying to sell you something but to show-case latest developments and innovative tools to improve your life.
A fantastic way to give the consumers reassurance and trust – and even more to increase the sympathy for the brand. I really like!
A simply beautiful example is the next one – especially in the current discussion of refugees and also politics where in some countries very extreme right-wing tendencies are taking place. From my pov a very good insight and although somewhat so clear, still surprising and quite impactful. Momondo is a travel search engine which is still quite new in the market. They developed this content to bring across their belief that everybody should be able to travel the world, to meet other people, and experience other cultures and religions.
Btw: There were discussions if the reactions in the video are fake – however, Momondo reassured that everything is real and happened exactly as displayed. Very nice!
Under www.letsopenourworld.com you can find a very nice promotion, too, just check it out!
That’s it for this month.
Have a great UEFA Euro, may the best win. I reveal that I vote for Germany, of course!
I will end with a big laugh – most likely you did see it already with nearly 157.000.000 (!!!) views it is the most watched video on Facebook ever, can you believe it??
If you, by now, are not in a good mood already: this will do the trick, promise!!
Needless to say if you do need support in questions of advertising and content development, just give me a call to discuss. Am more than happy to help.
Take care until next month’s edition!
All the best,
